Seriously, what real man would allow others to label them based on trends? Each man's expression is different. Some think baseball is masculine while, guys like me, prefer UFC, Mauy Thai, and kickboxing. Big deal.

As long as a man treats women with respect, takes care of his kids, gets along with others, and has self-respect, his activities are no one's concerns.

I agree, labels are bad and the downfall of society’s individuality, as we know it. Yet we all can attest that the 90’s was a decade when we were admired for our stench. Metro sexual was a bit overboard but it did rekindle many a man’s love for soap. We as a gender seem to go over board, its either to much or to little; but for the few who don’t follow the crowd we can learn from the style that firmly dug its cleats into the sides of everyday society. I do agree with cancel the pedicure thing that is too much if you want to do that then go on but don’t let GQ dictate your weekend activities, especially if they aren’t paying for them.

FINALLY!. Does this mean "men" will stop shaving off their body hair? I don't think there was anything in the "metrosexual" trend as indefensively stupid as this...

I'm a woman and who the hell thinks Brad Pitt and Heath "Bareback Mounting" Ledger are macho? Puhleeze. Macho is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Vince Vaughn and Vin Diesel. Angelina Jolie is more of a man than Brad Pitt.

Good to hear that men want to be more manly. If I see another hairless chested man i might get sick. Men are supposed to have hairy chests!!! If men want to be more manly, they might also consider getting jobs and moving out of their parents homes. ;-)

No man should take longer in the bathroom getting ready to go out this his girlfriend/wife. If he does, then he is more in love with himself then he will ever be with anyone else.

I can't stress how relieved I am about this. I'm glad I never gave in to the hype and always stayed true to myself. It may sound crazy, but I honestly think this will change a lot of things other than what men wear or watch on TV.

Most metrosexuals I've known (my brother being one) don't know how to work on a car, fix a broken toilet, or work on their houses. They don't know their own butt from a monkey wrench.

Even though it's cheesy to follow a trend just because some magazine says it's cool, I think it's safe to say that most shallow and vulnerable men will follow it, thus having to learn the traits of a real man. Because wearing a flannel shirt doesn't make you macho, you'll have to learn how to fix your girlfriend's air conditioner and slap the crap out of any other man who makes innapropriate passes at her. Maybe I'm going overboard with all this, but It will change a lot more than just switching from designer clothes to a dirty t-shirt & jeans.

                              The primitive man is back

You people all have pretty limited scopes on what it means to be metrosexual. A "metrosexual" is a heterosexual man NOT daunted by topics of style, sensitivity, compassion . . . all the attributes usually assigned strictly to women (in our massively sexist culture). It's in addition to . . . not in lieu of. You know who some early (as in, before we had the term) metrosexuals were?? Umm, Jim Morrison, Robert Plant (yeah, not sexy); the portrayal of James Bond (stylish, cool); I'd say Jesus was a pretty huge metrosexual in his day. Who'd wanna' be like that?! Certainly no hillbilly Republicans. You know whose not Metrosexual? Body builders (i.e. Schwarzenegger) who shave their chests, George Bush . . . and all the sexist douche bags on this site. Now back to your first-person shooter games, Britney Spears, and canned beer.
