The economy, the election, the wars in two nations, the increase in the national deficit and plenty of other issues have taken priority on the pages here at Propeller. Most of those are scary topics. As a result, I tend to post stories related to gay and lesbian issues. All of the above could directly affect gay people, but I prefer the uplifting stories which provide hope and opportunity.     My many thanks and gratitude to all who have sent me notes, kind words, e-mail messages and posts during my time of illness. The surgery was a resounding success and came at a good time. It turns out the cancer had spread further than was realized, and many of the lymph nodes around my chest were cancerous. Although the surgery was extensive, I am home from the hospital, healing, and going back to work on Monday. Happy reading to all,
